Remember the childhood story of the ‘Little Engine That Could”? I love to work with strong, transcendent people. My clientele run the gamut from accomplished athletes to cancer survivors. Since grad school, I have studied the dynamics of self-efficacy. Self-efficacy, loosely defined, is belief in one’s capability to achieve goals even in the face of challenges.

People with high efficacy beliefs approach difficult tasks as challenges to be mastered and they sustain efforts in the face of failure, which means, they recover quickly; they are highly resilient.

To increase self-efficacy beliefs:

  1. Remember Accomplishments: Successful experiences lead to greater feelings of self-efficacy.
  2. Vicarious Experience: Exposure to people similar to yourself who succeed increases your beliefs that you too can master something/anything.
  3. Encouragement and Affirmations: Overcome self-doubt.
  4. Physiological States: Moods, emotions, physical reactions, and stress levels influence abilities. Transform anxiety into excitement to bolster belief in what is possible.

The Little Engine thought he could and so he did. Thoughts create beliefs, moods, and emotional states. I help people to shift the energy of thoughts and emotions which fosters new beliefs. As my clients relax, they reconnect to their own inner strength and they feel amazing. They up-level their lives for greater health and happiness. I do this using energy, intuition, mindfulness, and meditations. It’s simple and it works!
